The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तन्मयो विभवत्येवं तस्माद्भवति पौरुषम् ।
पौरुषेण प्रयत्नेनमहार्हगुणशालिनः ॥ १७ ॥

tanmayo vibhavatyevaṃ tasmādbhavati pauruṣam |
pauruṣeṇa prayatnenamahārhaguṇaśālinaḥ || 17 ||

The godfearing man is possessed of every good, and exerts his efforts for attainment of godliness; it is by means of manly efforts only, that men obtain the most precious blessings.
