The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.62.15

धैर्येणाभ्युद्धरेद्बुद्धिं पङ्कान्मुग्धगवीमिव ।
तामसीं राजसीं चैव जातिमन्यामपि श्रितः ॥ १५ ॥

dhairyeṇābhyuddharedbuddhiṃ paṅkānmugdhagavīmiva |
tāmasīṃ rājasīṃ caiva jātimanyāmapi śritaḥ || 15 ||

It is by means of patience only, that one must redeem his good sense; and it is by patient industry alone, that one may be advanced to a higher birth from his low and mean condition.
