The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.61.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
ये हि राजससात्त्विक्या जाता भुवि महागुणाः ।
ते नित्यमेव मुदिताः प्रकाशाः ख इवेन्दवः ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
ye hi rājasasāttvikyā jātā bhuvi mahāguṇāḥ |
te nityameva muditāḥ prakāśāḥ kha ivendavaḥ || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—Those that are born with the nature of Rajasa-satvika, remain highly pleased in the world, and are as gladsome in their faces, as the face of the sky with the serene light of the moon-beams.
