The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.60.18

तेनैव मोक्षभागी चेज्जन्मना स तु सात्त्विकः ।
अथैतां योनिमासाद्य कृत्यां जन्मपरम्पराम् ॥ १८ ॥

tenaiva mokṣabhāgī cejjanmanā sa tu sāttvikaḥ |
athaitāṃ yonimāsādya kṛtyāṃ janmaparamparām || 18 ||

He is said to have a satvika birth, who gets his liberation in or after his life time; but whoever is obliged to be reborn by his acts, is said to belong to the rajas-satvika class.
