The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वासनावशतो ब्रह्ममनसा कल्पितं वपुः ।
तेजसा श्रितकुड्येन हेमाभत्वमिवात्मनः ॥ १२ ॥

vāsanāvaśato brahmamanasā kalpitaṃ vapuḥ |
tejasā śritakuḍyena hemābhatvamivātmanaḥ || 12 ||

Whenever the thought of making the unreal world, rises in the mind of Brahma the creator, he takes an unreal body upon him of his own will.
