The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न केचन जगद्भावास्तत्त्वज्ञं रञ्जयन्त्यमी ।
मर्कटा इव नृत्यन्तो गौरीलास्यार्थिनं हरम् ॥ ५६ ॥

na kecana jagadbhāvāstattvajñaṃ rañjayantyamī |
markaṭā iva nṛtyanto gaurīlāsyārthinaṃ haram || 56 ||

No worldly pleasure can gladden the soul of the wise man, as the dance of monkeys can give no joy to the heart of Hara, that delights in the dancing of Gauri.
