The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इदं हेयमुपादेयमिदमित्यसदुत्थितौ ।
निश्चयौ गलितौ यस्य ज्ञस्यासावतिदुर्लभः ॥ ३३ ॥

idaṃ heyamupādeyamidamityasadutthitau |
niścayau galitau yasya jñasyāsāvatidurlabhaḥ || 33 ||

It is hard to have a wise man, whose mind is devoid of its firm reliance on the vanities of the world; and freed from its desire or disgust of something or others, as agreeable or disagreeable to its state.
