Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दृष्टं द्रष्टव्यमखिलं भ्रान्त्वा भ्रान्त्वा दिशो दश ।
जनाः कतिपया एव यथावस्त्ववलोकिनः ॥ २९ ॥

dṛṣṭaṃ draṣṭavyamakhilaṃ bhrāntvā bhrāntvā diśo daśa |
janāḥ katipayā eva yathāvastvavalokinaḥ || 29 ||
