The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.57.13

उपदेशगिरो वृद्धे रञ्जना निर्मले पटे ।
लगन्त्युदारविज्ञानकथा चाधिगतात्मनि ॥ १३ ॥

upadeśagiro vṛddhe rañjanā nirmale paṭe |
lagantyudāravijñānakathā cādhigatātmani || 13 ||

The preaching of a sermon is selectable to old men, as fine colourings are suitable to clean canvas; and so a spiritual discourse of deep sense, suits one who has known the Spirit.
