The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.56.21

तथापि भावनां साधो पदार्थं प्रति नार्हसि ।
अलातचक्रे स्वप्ने च भ्रमे वा केव भावना ॥ २१ ॥

tathāpi bhāvanāṃ sādho padārthaṃ prati nārhasi |
alātacakre svapne ca bhrame vā keva bhāvanā || 21 ||

You ought no more to place any reliance on material things, which are as false as an ambient flame, or a vision in dream, or as any falsehood whatever.
