The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सर्वा दृष्टीः परित्यज्य नियम्य मनसा मनः ।
सबाह्याभ्यन्तरार्थस्य संकल्पस्य क्षयं कुरु ॥ ३८ ॥

sarvā dṛṣṭīḥ parityajya niyamya manasā manaḥ |
sabāhyābhyantarārthasya saṃkalpasya kṣayaṃ kuru || 38 ||

Therefore shun the sight of the visibles, and repress your fleeting mind by your sober intellect; and diminish your desires for all internal as well as external goods.
