The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कदम्बं रोदसीस्तम्भमारुरोह वनस्थितम् ।
एकार्णवगतं शौरिर्वटवृक्षमिवोन्नतम् ॥ २ ॥

kadambaṃ rodasīstambhamāruroha vanasthitam |
ekārṇavagataṃ śaurirvaṭavṛkṣamivonnatam || 2 ||

He mounted and sat over the high and airy top of the tree, and looked on all sides like the god Vishnu surveying the worlds.
