The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.49.23

मातङ्गकटघृष्टेन जानुस्तब्धेन पीठिना ।
आभोगिना बद्धपदं तरुणेव महाचलम् ॥ २३ ॥

mātaṅgakaṭaghṛṣṭena jānustabdhena pīṭhinā |
ābhoginā baddhapadaṃ taruṇeva mahācalam || 23 ||

The sturdy woods resembling high hills, were rubbed by the scabby cheeks of elephants, and stood unmoved though they were incessantly dashed by their huge legs and feet.
