The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.48.30

ब्राह्मेण कर्मणा तस्य विपिने चरतस्तपः ।
अनन्तसंकल्पमयं श्रोत्रियत्वं बभूव ह ॥ ३० ॥

brāhmeṇa karmaṇā tasya vipine caratastapaḥ |
anantasaṃkalpamayaṃ śrotriyatvaṃ babhūva ha || 30 ||

He was employed in the performance of his austerities according to the Brahmanic law, and engaged himself in discharging his ceremonial rites by the Srauta ritual, for the accomplishment of his sundry vows.
