The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.47.51

पुनः सृष्टिकराऽवीतवीतस्नेहदृशः पुनः ।
दीपा इव कृतालोकाः प्रशाम्यन्त्युद्भवन्ति च ॥ ५१ ॥

punaḥ sṛṣṭikarā'vītavītasnehadṛśaḥ punaḥ |
dīpā iva kṛtālokāḥ praśāmyantyudbhavanti ca || 51 ||

Past creations and objects of affection being gone, others come to rise in future, as the lamps are lighted and extinguished by turns at home.
