The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.47.20

भूत्वा भूत्वा प्रलीयन्ते ससुरासुरमानवाः ।
सरित्तङ्गभङ्ग्यैव समस्ता भूतजातयः ॥ २० ॥

bhūtvā bhūtvā pralīyante sasurāsuramānavāḥ |
sarittaṅgabhaṅgyaiva samastā bhūtajātayaḥ || 20 ||

They rise over and over, to sink lower and lower again; just as the waves of the sea, rising aloft and falling low by turns.
