Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.45.6

आभासमात्रं हि जगद्धटावटपटभ्रमैः ।
आवर्तते न सद्रूपात्पृथक्कुड्यादयः स्थिताः ॥ ६ ॥

ābhāsamātraṃ hi jagaddhaṭāvaṭapaṭabhramaiḥ |
āvartate na sadrūpātpṛthakkuḍyādayaḥ sthitāḥ || 6 ||

The pageantry of the world is an erroneous representation, like the elevations and depressions in a painting; they are not distinct from the supreme spirit, in which they are situated as buildings stand on their foundation.
