The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.44.22

स्वरूपं गन्धवत्स्थूलं येनोदेष्यति मेदिनी ।
अथेत्थंभूततन्मात्रवेष्टितं तनुतां जहत् ॥ २२ ॥

svarūpaṃ gandhavatsthūlaṃ yenodeṣyati medinī |
athetthaṃbhūtatanmātraveṣṭitaṃ tanutāṃ jahat || 22 ||

These united together produced the gross form of earth said:—the receptacle of scent; and then the mind being filled with these minute elementary particles in its thoughts of them, forsook its fine form of the spirit for its gross body of the quintuple elements (called the quintessence of material bodies.
