The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वशिखास्पन्दशक्त्यैव दीपः सौम्यो यथोन्नतम् ।
एति तद्वदसावात्मा तत्स्वे वपुषि वल्गति ॥ ७ ॥

svaśikhāspandaśaktyaiva dīpaḥ saumyo yathonnatam |
eti tadvadasāvātmā tatsve vapuṣi valgati || 7 ||

And as the flame rises high of its own accord, so the power of the spirit, extends in itself in all directions.
