The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.41.14

शाम्यति ह्यस्त्रमस्त्रेण मलेन क्षाल्यते मलः ।
शमं विषं विषेणैति रिपुणा हन्यते रिपुः ॥ १४ ॥

śāmyati hyastramastreṇa malena kṣālyate malaḥ |
śamaṃ viṣaṃ viṣeṇaiti ripuṇā hanyate ripuḥ || 14 ||

As one weapon is foiled by another, and one dirt is removed by the other (cow dung and ashes), and as one poison is destroyed by another, and also as one foe is driven out by another enemy.
