The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अपरीक्ष्य च यः शिष्यं प्रशास्त्यतिविमूढधीः ।
स एव नरकं याति यावदाभूतसंप्लवम् ॥ २६ ॥

aparīkṣya ca yaḥ śiṣyaṃ praśāstyativimūḍhadhīḥ |
sa eva narakaṃ yāti yāvadābhūtasaṃplavam || 26 ||

The spiritual guide who instructs his pupil without weighing well his habits and conduct, is a silly pedagogue and sinks into hell and has to dwell there until the last day of judgment;
