The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अवत्सलाद्यथा बन्धोः सुखदुःखैर्न लिप्यते ।
तत्त्वेन संपरिज्ञानात्तथा तत्त्वचयात्मनः ॥ ५४ ॥

avatsalādyathā bandhoḥ sukhaduḥkhairna lipyate |
tattvena saṃparijñānāttathā tattvacayātmanaḥ || 54 ||

As the unkind relative is unconcerned with the joys and griefs of his relations; so shouldst thou remain aloof from all things, by knowing the falsehood of their natures.
