The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.35.51

दुःखमायात्यसदिति हेयोपादेयरूपि यत् ।
तदभावेन तु ज्ञानादानन्त्यमवशिष्यते ॥ ५१ ॥

duḥkhamāyātyasaditi heyopādeyarūpi yat |
tadabhāvena tu jñānādānantyamavaśiṣyate || 51 ||

The vanities of the world, are fraught with sorrow, therefore discard all its appendages from thee. The abandonment of superfluity, will conduce to thy attainment of wisdom at last.
