The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.35.27

इमं देहभ्रमं त्यक्त्वा देशकालान्तरे पुनः ।
शरीरत्वमथादत्ते पल्लवत्वमिवाङ्कुरः ॥ २७ ॥

imaṃ dehabhramaṃ tyaktvā deśakālāntare punaḥ |
śarīratvamathādatte pallavatvamivāṅkuraḥ || 27 ||

The soul lays down its error of being the body, when it has to forsake the same at some time or other (i.e. sooner or later), and assume another form as the germ sprouts forth into leaves.
