The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.34.37

अविरलसुखदुःखसंकटेयं भवपदवी भवतापनोपयाता ।
व्यवहरणवतो विभूतियातौ सततमसक्ततयैव नश्यतीति ॥ ३७ ॥

aviralasukhaduḥkhasaṃkaṭeyaṃ bhavapadavī bhavatāpanopayātā |
vyavaharaṇavato vibhūtiyātau satatamasaktatayaiva naśyatīti || 37 ||

It is incessant pain and pleasure that forms the fearful feature of this world, and there is no other way of evading all its pangs and pains, save by your apathetic behaviour, which must be your crowning glory in this life.
