The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सुप्तं मास्थीयतां वृद्धकच्छपेनेव पल्वले ।
उत्थानमङ्गीक्रियतां जरामरणशान्तये ॥ ५७ ॥

suptaṃ māsthīyatāṃ vṛddhakacchapeneva palvale |
utthānamaṅgīkriyatāṃ jarāmaraṇaśāntaye || 57 ||

Rise and accept an antidote to ward off your old age and death; and it is knowledge of this prescription, that all wealth and property are for our evils, and all pleasures and enjoyments, tend only to sicken and enervate our frames.
