The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.30.13

तज्जन्माथ परित्यज्य जाताः श्वभ्रेषु वायसाः ।
तदन्ते गृध्रतां यातास्ततोऽपि शुक्लतां गताः ॥ १३ ॥

tajjanmātha parityajya jātāḥ śvabhreṣu vāyasāḥ |
tadante gṛdhratāṃ yātāstato'pi śuklatāṃ gatāḥ || 13 ||

Getting rid of that birth, they were next born as ravens, and then as vultures and falcons of mountain caves.
