The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यमस्य किङ्करा यत्र ये कालत्रासनक्षमाः ।
कुतूहलेन तिष्ठन्ति नरकार्णवपालकाः ॥ ४ ॥

yamasya kiṅkarā yatra ye kālatrāsanakṣamāḥ |
kutūhalena tiṣṭhanti narakārṇavapālakāḥ || 4 ||

There dwelt the horrid myrmidons of death, formidable as their lord Pluto (Yama) himself; and who were glad with their charge of guarding the abyss of hell.
