The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

देहपादपसंस्थस्य हृदयालयगामिनः ।
तृष्णा चित्तखगस्येयं वागुरा परिकल्पिता ॥ ३३ ॥

dehapādapasaṃsthasya hṛdayālayagāminaḥ |
tṛṣṇā cittakhagasyeyaṃ vāgurā parikalpitā || 33 ||

Avarice is known as the snare of the mind, which is situated like a bird in its nest of the heart, as it is within the hollow of the tree of the body.
