The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अन्विष्टानपि यत्नेन नालभन्तासुराः सुरान् ।
घनजालवनोड्डीनान्सिंहा हरिणकानिव ॥ ७ ॥

anviṣṭānapi yatnena nālabhantāsurāḥ surān |
ghanajālavanoḍḍīnānsiṃhā hariṇakāniva || 7 ||

The Asuras sought and searched long after the gods in vain, for they had disappeared like the deer and lions, among the thickets after breaking loose of their snares.
