The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कुपिताग्निज्वलज्ज्वालाजालज्वलितदानवम् ।
एकाञ्जलिपुटानीतसमुद्रोत्सादितानलम् ॥ ४० ॥

kupitāgnijvalajjvālājālajvalitadānavam |
ekāñjalipuṭānītasamudrotsāditānalam || 40 ||

The furious flames of heavenly fire, burned the bodies of the infernal hosts; who in their turn, quenched the flame with water-spouts drawn out of the subterranean deep.
