The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सेनयोः क्षुब्धयोरासीद्युद्धमुद्धतदानवम् ।
निष्पिष्टनगरग्रामगिरिकाननमानवम् ॥ २६ ॥

senayoḥ kṣubdhayorāsīdyuddhamuddhatadānavam |
niṣpiṣṭanagaragrāmagirikānanamānavam || 26 ||

In this warfare of the two armies, the haughty demons gained the day; and laid waste the cities and villages of the gods, together with whole tract of their hills and forests.
