The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.26.18

घोरं समभवद्युद्धं देवदानवसेनयोः ।
रोदोरन्ध्रोदुम्बरान्तर्महामशकसंघयोः ॥ १८ ॥

ghoraṃ samabhavadyuddhaṃ devadānavasenayoḥ |
rodorandhrodumbarāntarmahāmaśakasaṃghayoḥ || 18 ||

There was a close fight of both armies, with a confused noise filling the vault of the sky; which like the hollow of the Udumbara tree, resounded to the commingled hum of the gnats rumbling within it.
