The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.26.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इति निर्णीय दैत्येन्द्रो दामव्यालकटान्विताम् ।
सेनां संप्रेषयामास भूतलं देवनाशिनीम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
iti nirṇīya daityendro dāmavyālakaṭānvitām |
senāṃ saṃpreṣayāmāsa bhūtalaṃ devanāśinīm || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—So saying, the chief of the demons despatched his generals Dama, Vyala and Kata, to lead his armies for the destruction of the Deities upon earth.
