The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.24.16

विवेकवारिणा सिद्ध्ये प्रक्षाल्यालोकवान्भव ।
भवभूमिषु भीमासु विवेकविकलो वसन् ॥ १६ ॥

vivekavāriṇā siddhye prakṣālyālokavānbhava |
bhavabhūmiṣu bhīmāsu vivekavikalo vasan || 16 ||

Such is the gem of the mind, O Rama! unless it is soiled by the dirt and filth of sin and vice; when it requires to be washed and cleansed with the water of reason, in order to throw its light on thee.
