The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा स्वाधीनमनसः स्वशरीरपुरीश्वराः ।
आक्रान्तेन्द्रियभृत्यस्य सुगृहीतमनोरिपोः ॥ ७ ॥

yathā svādhīnamanasaḥ svaśarīrapurīśvarāḥ |
ākrāntendriyabhṛtyasya sugṛhītamanoripoḥ || 7 ||

The kings of earth are not so happy in their earthly citadels, as the lords of the cities of the own bodies, and the masters of their own minds.
