The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वाश्रयं प्रथमं देहं कृतघ्ना नाशयन्ति ये ।
ते कुकार्यमहाकोशा दुर्जयाः स्वेन्द्रियारयः ॥ २ ॥

svāśrayaṃ prathamaṃ dehaṃ kṛtaghnā nāśayanti ye |
te kukāryamahākośā durjayāḥ svendriyārayaḥ || 2 ||

Our senses are our invincible enemies, being the sources of all misdeeds and wicked actions. They are the ungrateful miscreants against the body, in which they have found their refuge.
