The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.22.17

प्रकटाकारमप्यन्तर्निरहंकारचेतसम् ।
नाप्नुवन्ति विकल्पास्तं मृगतृष्णामिवैणकाः ॥ १७ ॥

prakaṭākāramapyantarnirahaṃkāracetasam |
nāpnuvanti vikalpāstaṃ mṛgatṛṣṇāmivaiṇakāḥ || 17 ||

They are far from tasting the happiness of the egoistic yogis, who are continually seeking to quench their thirst (after pleasure), from the waters appearing in the mirage, as the parching deer.
