The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.22.8

कातकं फलमासाद्य यथा वारि प्रसीदति ।
तथा विज्ञानवशतः स्वभावः संप्रसीदति ॥ ८ ॥

kātakaṃ phalamāsādya yathā vāri prasīdati |
tathā vijñānavaśataḥ svabhāvaḥ saṃprasīdati || 8 ||

As the seeds of kata fruits, serve to purify the foul water;so doth philosophy tend to expurgate human nature, from all its errors.
