The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शृणु दर्शनभेदेन तन्नामाभिमताकृतिम् ।
वाग्मिनां वदतां यातं चित्राभिः शास्त्रदृष्टिभिः ॥ १२ ॥

śṛṇu darśanabhedena tannāmābhimatākṛtim |
vāgmināṃ vadatāṃ yātaṃ citrābhiḥ śāstradṛṣṭibhiḥ || 12 ||

Men learned in the sastras and eloquent in speech, have given various appellations to the mind, in different systems of philosophy, according to its various perceptive faculties and different functions and operations in the body.
