वर्तमानं मनोराज्यं नैष्फल्यं समुपागता ।
सा कृत्तिर्मनसो ज्ञेया तस्य जीवपरम्परा ॥ ८ ॥

vartamānaṃ manorājyaṃ naiṣphalyaṃ samupāgatā |
sā kṛttirmanaso jñeyā tasya jīvaparamparā || 8 ||

The different states of the mind, ensuing upon the absence of its present objects under its province, brings on a change in its constitution, which is called its regeneration.
