The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.17.31

शुद्धिर्हि चित्तस्य विवासनत्वमभूतसंवेदनमेकरूपम् ।
तस्याशु शुद्ध्या भवति प्रबुद्धस्तन्मात्रयुक्त्या परसंगमेति ॥ ३१ ॥

śuddhirhi cittasya vivāsanatvamabhūtasaṃvedanamekarūpam |
tasyāśu śuddhyā bhavati prabuddhastanmātrayuktyā parasaṃgameti || 31 ||

Want of desire constitutes the purity of the mind, which is readily united with immaterial things of the same nature like itself. The purity of the mind conduces to its enlightenment, and these being united in one, leads it to the Supreme.
