The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.15.38

यावच्छरीरं तावद्धि दुःखे दुःखं सुखे सुखम् ।
असंसक्तधियो धीरा दर्शयन्त्यप्रबुद्धवत् ॥ ३८ ॥

yāvaccharīraṃ tāvaddhi duḥkhe duḥkhaṃ sukhe sukham |
asaṃsaktadhiyo dhīrā darśayantyaprabuddhavat || 38 ||

As long as there is the body, so long is there the feeling of pleasure in pleasure and that of pain in pain. But the mind which is unattached to and unaffected by them, feigns to itself the show of wisdom.
