The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अथासौ विस्मयात्स्मेरमुखो मुदितमानसः ।
वितर्कमन्थरां वाचमुवाच वदतां वरः ॥ ३६ ॥

athāsau vismayātsmeramukho muditamānasaḥ |
vitarkamantharāṃ vācamuvāca vadatāṃ varaḥ || 36 ||

He was struck with wonder at the remembrance of his former state, and smiled with a joyous face and gladsome heart, to ponder on what he had been; and then uttered as follows.
