The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.8.17

पतितस्यावनौ तस्य चिन्तया सह दीर्घया ।
शरीरं शतधा जातं शिलापातीव निर्झरः ॥ १७ ॥

patitasyāvanau tasya cintayā saha dīrghayā |
śarīraṃ śatadhā jātaṃ śilāpātīva nirjharaḥ || 17 ||

His great grief at his fall from heaven to earth, broke his frame as it were into a hundred fragments; like a waterfall falling on the stony ground, and breaking into a hundred rills below.
