The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

एते ते यमचन्द्रेन्द्रसूर्यानलजलानिलाः ।
लोकपालास्तनुद्योतकीर्णदीप्तानलार्चिषः ॥ ८ ॥

ete te yamacandrendrasūryānalajalānilāḥ |
lokapālāstanudyotakīrṇadīptānalārciṣaḥ || 8 ||

These were the gods Yama and Indra, and the sun and moon, and the deities of fire and the winds; and there were the regents of the worlds, whose shining bodies shaded the lustre of vivid fire.
