Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.5.5

भार्गवस्य चिरं कालं स्वर्गभोगबुभुक्षया ।
यथा भोगाधिनाथत्वं संसारित्वं बभूव च ॥ ५ ॥

bhārgavasya ciraṃ kālaṃ svargabhogabubhukṣayā |
yathā bhogādhināthatvaṃ saṃsāritvaṃ babhūva ca || 5 ||

It is in the same manner, as Bhargava believed himself to be possessed of all worldly gratifications. Because true bliss has much more relation to the mind, than to earthly possessions.
