The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.4.9

मनो मोहमुपादत्ते म्रियते जायते मनः ।
तत्स्वचिन्ताप्रसादेन बध्यते मुच्यते पुनः ॥ ९ ॥

mano mohamupādatte mriyate jāyate manaḥ |
tatsvacintāprasādena badhyate mucyate punaḥ || 9 ||

It is because of its thoughts, that the mind is subjected to the errors of its birth and death; and to those of its being bound to or liberated from, the bonds of the body and this world.
