The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.1.27

तत्सूक्ष्ममसदाभासमसदेव ह्यतादृशम् ।
कीदृशी बीजता तत्र बीजाभावे कुतोऽङ्कुरः ॥ २७ ॥

tatsūkṣmamasadābhāsamasadeva hyatādṛśam |
kīdṛśī bījatā tatra bījābhāve kuto'ṅkuraḥ || 27 ||

That which is as minute as a nil and a zero, is equivalent to nothing; and could never be the mundane seed, without which there could be no germ nor sprout.
