The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.1.21

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इदं बीजेऽङ्कुर इव दृश्यमास्ते महाशये ।
ब्रूते य एवमज्ञत्वमेतत्तस्यास्ति शैशवम् ॥ २१ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
idaṃ bīje'ṅkura iva dṛśyamāste mahāśaye |
brūte ya evamajñatvametattasyāsti śaiśavam || 21 ||

Vasishtha replied:—Those who say that the mundane world existed in the form of a seed at the final sleep (of Brahma), are altogether ignorant of the truth, and talk as children and boys.
